New Work is Up On the Site & New Inspiration Abounds

Since moving to The American West, it has taken me quite some time to get settled enough to start thinking about my analog photography process and get back to work making pictures once again.

A nude figure walks in the open landscape of The American West. This is part of a new collection of images, currently in production.

My main subject is still the female figure, in studio and now out in the vast landscape of the American High Plains. It has taken some time but I have found some great models to work with locally, and I am eager to produce more fine art imagery. I have never worked with figure models outdoors before this project.

Back Study No. 1, is among the latest work featured in the Individual Figure Studies Gallery. I will continue producing figure studies in the studio, as well as work to come up with new ways to work on figure studies, and new artistic contexts.

In other news, I plan to continue my studio practice and my technical experiments, working to produce figure studies with much greater context than just beautiful nudes.

I will be working in the 5x7 film format for much of the studio work, and the images will be contact-printed in editions of 25. As the work progresses, there will be collections of prints available. Why contact prints? Well, As I have said before, small is the new big, and the images will look amazing in their #highqualitylowfidelity splendor.

I have finally gotten to the point where I can process and digitize film images again. The next step is to resume printing in the darkroom and make editions available for purchase and exhibition.

In the near future, I hope to attend my first artist residency in order to concentrate 100% on my art for a period of time. Stay tuned for all that is coming soon!
